GAMBARAN PENGGUNAAN OBAT GASTRITIS PADA PASIEN RAWAT INAP DI RUMAH SAKIT X DI KOTA TANJUNGPINANG

Gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach caused by irritation, infection, irregular eating patterns, and poor dietary habits such as consuming spicy foods, eating high-protein meals excessively, and drinking too much coffee. According to the WHO, the global incidence of gastritis is 40.8%. Based on the 2018 Indonesian Health Profile, gastritis is one of the ten most common diseases among hospitalized patients in Indonesia, with a total of 30,154 cases (4.9%). The purpose of this study was to describe the pattern of gastritis drug use in inpatients at Tanjungpinang X Hospital. This research was conducted using a retrospective method at Tanjungpinang X Hospital during the period July–December 2023. The instrument used was patient medical record data, and sampling was performed using a random sampling technique. A total of 190 patients met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that the distribution of gastritis patients by gender consisted of 93 men (48.94%) and 97 women (51.06%). Based on age, the highest number of patients fell into the late-elderly group (56–65 years), totaling 102 individuals (53.68%). In terms of drug classes, the most frequently used medications were Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs), with 158 instances of use (66.94%).
