Abstract

The peel of super red dragon fruit contains anthocyanin compounds that have antioxidant activity, which is used to protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals, thereby preventing premature aging. Emulgel is selected for its beneficial characteristics, including ease of application, ease of washing, softness during use, compatibility with various excipients, and water solubility. A comparison of maceration and ultrasonic extraction methods aims to determine the optimal extraction method for use in emulgel preparations. The technique employed is experimental, using a true-experimental design. The sample used is super red dragon fruit peel from Agam Regency. The stages include determination, preparation, extraction, emulgel formulation, and evaluation, with seven formulas: F1 (base), F2, F3, F4 (with maceration extract 1%, 3%, 5%), F5, F6, F7 (with ultrasonic extract 1%, 3%, 5%). The evaluation includes organoleptic, homogeneity, viscosity, pH, spreadability, adhesiveness, and freeze-thaw tests. The formulations demonstrated good characteristics throughout the testing. The physical quality evaluation of the emulgel formulations met the criteria for good physical quality; however, after the stability test, the formulations did not fully meet the physical quality standards for the preparation
